Tharpo the Clown is the premier clown entertainer for All of the DFW. His career spans over 20 years in the entertainment industry as an actor for movies and industrial training films, clown, mime, juggler, unicyclist, face painter, balloon artist and writer/poet. Tharpo has a BA in Theater Arts from Missouri State University (formerly known as Southwest Missouri State University) in Springfield, Missouri. While at SMU, he won the prestigious Kathleen Turner Performance Scholarship; this scholarship is granted to the recipient who has a strong commitment to pursue the professional world of entertainment. The theater background truly gives him the edge to work crowds of all ages and in small and large venues.
In the Dallas Ft Worth Metroplex, Tharpo stands out among the clown entertainers. His clowning skills are unique and vast along with his quick wit and “puns” a minute. He has entertained thousands for private and corporate events. He has proven time and time again to leave any audience laughing and thoroughly entertained. In fact, he strives to make your next event the best event. His reputation for professionalism is unparalleled. There is no one more dedicated to making your event “worry free.” His advanced training gives him the ability to achieve “versatility is the key” performances again and again….he can do whatever you need or whatever it takes
In addition to his clowning events, Tharpo enjoys speaking for various groups. In 2003 he entertained estheticians/make-up artists at the International Esthetics Convention in Orlando, Florida in the art and practice of Face Painting – a new skill to that industry. He continues to expand his skills with attendance to Clowns Conventions, Magic Conventions Juggling Conventions, Clown Camp, and Balloon and Face Painter Seminars (such as Wolfe Brothers). He is a lifetime member of World Clown Association, International Juggling Association, Clowns of America International, Society of American Magicians, as well as a regular member of Texas Clown Association, Dallas Face Painter Guild and Kidabra. Recently he was mentioned in the MUM magazine (April 2008) for his help in a magic skit. His first place win in full face Facepainting at the GOT Class Competition (April 2008) highlights his love of face painting…even though it is more of a hobby, it is a necessary skill for “All Arounder” clowns today.
